July 5 - Day 3 - Saturday Trenton to Campbellford

We left Trenton at 8:15 to catch the first lock opening at 8:30. A great day, sunny and warm. There will be 2 boats, ourselves and the Simplicity, a Cape Cruising make of 22 feet. Allan and Linda have left their home base Florida in April and they are doing the Great Loop. They are an attraction by themselves. So Compact and so efficient. We went through the canal at 10 mph. Our wakes would have been too big for the shoreline and the pleasure boats along the canal. Simplicity could have gone faster but to no use since we were partner for the locks. We went through 12 locks. The bottom part of the locks looks like any other lock system. A long canal in a rural environment, very quiet. We stopped at Campbellford (Home of our 2 $bill - see picture) at 16:00 PM. We could have pushed it to Hasting (another 3 hours) before closure of the locks, but we had enough. Cocktails were welcomed - Dinner on the boat was very relaxing.
We found out that Allan is a fisherman and is looking very seriously for a fishing permit which means tomorrow we might have dinner with Allan's catch of the day. Bedtime came at 10:00 hrs. PM
Dock $1.50/Ft = $63.00 + tax (Municipal Dock - Power Available)
