Departure Orillia at 8:45 AM - Long Day ahead of us. It is a rainy day with wind of only 7 mph and a high of 26. It is a great day to cross lake Simcoe which went very well . we went through Bolsove Canal Lake then Talbot River which is slow and narrow with nothing but Deer flies back to the Trent Canal then Balsam lake. Lock No. 39 - Portage- had a major damage during the night . They lost the water from the bassin through a damaged dam. We had to wait for it to fill up which took approx. 2 hrs.. We arrived at Bobcaygeon at 19:00. Stayed at Gordon's Marina. We had dinner at the Water Edges which was so good. (Manon had a good meal) . and the girls went shopping at Bigley's the days after which was planned as an easy day.
LOCKS: Gamebridge-Thorah-Portage-Talbot-Bolsove-Kirkfield (lift)-Rosedale-Fenelon-Bobcageon (9 locks - travel time 10 hrs W/ 2 hours wait)
